Runway to the Cure 2026

We are excited to announce that the live 2026 Runway to the Cure fashion show will return on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at  1PM at the Reston Town Center Pavilion.  Please continue to check for updates on our website, www.runwaytothecure.org, Facebook page and Instagram @runwaytothecure.

When each woman walks down the runway, she isn’t running from her disease, she is owning it and demonstrating the strength required to overcome it.

The 2025 Runway to the Cure fashion show featuring courageous all-survivor models was once again held in the Reston Town Center Pavilion on a beautiful early October day. The event marked the second year that an online-only silent auction and raffle was incorporated as a feature into the ever-evolving event.

We were proud to have HealthWorks for Northern Virginia and The Nina Hyde Center for Breast Cancer Research at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center as our local and national beneficiaries, respectively. HealthWorks for Northern Virginia offers comprehensive medical care, including mammograms and ultrasounds, regardless of a patient’s income or insurance status. The Nina Hyde Center, as part of the only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center in the Washington, D.C. area, has over 70 experts who focus on prevention, treatment, and genetic research, including BRCA mutations, while driving innovation and patient care.

The generous support for the fashion show allowed Runway to the Cure to donate $42,000 to each organization for the important work they are doing.

In 2023, the Runway to the Cure fashion show returned to its original venue in the beautifully restored outdoor Reston Town Center Pavilion to a standing room only crowd. The show, once again exclusively featuring breast cancer survivors as our fashion models, was phenomenally successful, marking the first time since its inception that we raised over $100,000!

Because of this enormous success, we were able to donate $73,500 to the lllBs Foundation for services to current local breast cancer patients and $24,500 to METAvivor, a nonprofit and the only U.S. organization dedicated completely to funding research on metastatic breast cancer – the kind that kills over 41,000 women and men each year. We are so grateful to achieve this milestone in order to support the work of these organizations to help current breast cancer warriors and to eradicate this disease.

For me, the event helped me meet a lot of different women in various stages of treatment, so the friendships that formed were the main thing I took away from it. But also, it was a wonderful way to take a "day off" from thinking about cancer and all the things we had to sacrifice in order to manage our disease. We got to feel pampered and glamorous and do something fun. I like to think of it as being a princess for a day!
