We are excited to announce that the live 2023 Runway to the Cure fashion show will return on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at  1PM at the Reston Town Center Pavilion.  Please continue to check for updates on our website, www.runwaytothecure.org, Facebook page and Instagram @runwaytothecure.  We will be unveiling a renewed and rebranded 2022 Runway to the Cure fashion show event with new sponsors, new models, prizes and more!  In the meantime, please stay safe.  Thank you so much for your ongoing support for Runway to the Cure.

When each woman walks down the runway, she isn’t running from her disease, she is owning it and demonstrating the strength required to overcome it.

Runway to the Cure 2022

Despite a two-year absence due to COVID, the Runway to the Cure fashion show returned as a phenomenally successful in-person event in 2022, as we rebranded the event, unveiling a new, refreshed and modern logo. The fashion show, once again featuring an all-survivor lineup, was held at the Hyatt Regency Reston and was our most successful show ever!
Because of this enormous success, we were able to donate $52,500 to the Tigerlily Foundation for services to current local breast cancer patients and $17,500 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, earmarked for research on triple-negative breast cancer. We are so grateful to see our event growing exponentially with so much community support!
We look forward to seeing you at the 2023 Runway to the Cure on Sunday, October 1, at 1:00 p.m., when the fashion show returns to the renovated Reston Town Center Pavilion! Please continue to check for updates on our website ( www.runwaytothecure.org), Facebook page and Instagram @runwaytothecure.

Runway to the Cure 2020 & 2021

Due to the ongoing uncertainties surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we made the difficult decision to cancel both our 2020 and 2021 annual live fundraising fashion shows. Despite being unable to hold a live fashion show either year, we were able to raise enough money through our “virtual fashion show revue” to donate $4,000 to the Tigerlily Foundation and its Funds for Families COVID-19 Relief Program that provides grants to breast cancer patients in financial need.

Runway to the Cure 2019

Reston, Va. – October 19, 2019 – Reston Runway to the Cure, Inc.,

The third annual Runway to the Cure Fashion Show was held at the Pavilion at Reston Town Center on Saturday, October 19. The event raised $20,000 for the Step Sisters Organization. The Step Sisters are honored to have been selected to benefit from the community-driven Runway event. The grant we received has impacted our organization in a meaningful way, allowing us to grow our Crisis Fund and reach more patients in Northern Virginia with our quality-of-life support services for breast cancer patients. In the short time since the event, the Step Sisters have been able to assist with rent and utility payments as well as fund house cleanings, transportation and meals for local breast cancer patients.

For me, the event helped me meet a lot of different women in various stages of treatment, so the friendships that formed were the main thing I took away from it. But also, it was a wonderful way to take a "day off" from thinking about cancer and all the things we had to sacrifice in order to manage our disease. We got to feel pampered and glamorous and do something fun. I like to think of it as being a princess for a day!
